The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a major recruitment drive for the position of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre. This drive offers opportunities for candidates across Ladakh Union Territory (UT), including Leh and Kargil, as well as other states in India. SBI’s special recruitment drive for Ladakh aims to fill 50 vacancies under advertisement number CRPD/CR-SPLDRIVE/2024-25/23. Applications for this drive are open from 7th December 2024 to 27th December 2024. Meanwhile, candidates across India can apply for 13,735 vacancies under advertisement number CRPD/CR/2024-25/24, with the application window open from 17th December 2024 to 7th January 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification approved by the Central Government. If applying with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD), ensure completion by 31st December 2024. Final-year or last-semester students can also apply, but proof of graduation must be submitted by the specified date.

Age Limit
Candidates must be aged between 20 and 28 years as of 1st April 2024, meaning they should have been born between 2nd April 1996 and 1st April 2004 (both dates inclusive). Age relaxation applies to reserved categories, with 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and additional relaxation for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates as per government norms.

Recruitment Process

The selection process consists of three stages.

  1. Preliminary Examination
    The prelims are an online test of 1 hour, covering English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. Each section has a specific time limit. Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in this stage.
  2. Main Examination
    This stage includes sections on General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and Computer Aptitude. The marks obtained in this stage will determine the final merit list.
  3. Language Proficiency Test
    Candidates must clear a proficiency test in their selected local language, which could be Urdu, Ladakhi, or Bhoti for Ladakh UT applicants. Those with 10th or 12th-grade certificates showing they studied the specified language are exempted.

The application fee for candidates from different categories is as follows:

  • SC/ST/PwBD/ESM: No fee
  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹750

For the rest of India, the application window opens on 17th December 2024 and ends on 7th January 2025. The preliminary examination for the rest of India is tentatively scheduled for January 2025, followed by the main examination in February 2025.
