A Sensory Training System (STS) for use at home
by people with persistent limb pain
(sponsored by the University of the West of England)
As part of routine care for people with CRPS, touch and interaction with the painful limb is encouraged. Researchers have developed a computer-controlled device that provides this sensory training using electrical stimulation. A proof of concept study aims to explore whether people with CRPS are willing to use the device at home for a given period of time.
Recruitment for this study has taken place via the UK Registry. If you are enrolled with the Registry and are considered to be eligible for the study, then you will already have been contacted by the Network Co-ordinator. As the study team have a limited number of devices available, they will keep you updated regarding when you are likely to start your active involvement.
